A Little Mouthy

I guess somebody was feeling the need for oral sensory input.
Make that intense sensory input.

How many chewy tubes do you see?

a.) 2
b.) 4
c.) 8
d.) what's a chewy tube?

I am actually quite proud of The Bear.  Rather than gnawing on a toy, furniture, or my arm, she went to her backpack and removed her chew tubes.  This is exciting and scary because this means she can now get past zippers.

October is not only Down Syndrome Awareness month, it is also National Sensory Awareness Month. Nearly everyone has some sensory issues and for some, it is a neurological disorder that affects day-to-day living as their bodies have trouble processing and registering tactile, auditory, visual, olfactory (smell), taste and vestibular sensations.  You can learn more by clicking along the upper toolbar of my blog or visit

  1. Glad to see Ellie chose her tubes other than her clothing!

I love your comments and I read each and every single one of them.
